President, Sensational Leadership
(Continued from "About")
After completing doctoral studies in Instructional Systems Technology, Cathy developed training programs for Anderson Consulting (Accenture) for over two years. She then joined a PeopleSoft (now Oracle) consulting firm to facilitate software business analysis sessions for clients in North America and Europe. Some of her clients included Swiss Bank Corporation, Fermilab, Budget Rent-a-Car, Pfizer, University of Utah, Toshiba, and Walmart. Cathy’s next career move was joining Novell’s Global Learning & Development team to utilize her instructional design expertise and passion for creating solutions to meet organizational gaps. Her last role, before starting her own company, was heading Novell’s Asia Pacific Learning & Development programs, based in Singapore.
As Cathy worked closely with the APAC senior executive team during the pre-recession years, she became interested in learning ways to help leaders handle the demands and stress brought on by increasing complexity and volatility.
After leaving Novell, Cathy started a personal development and coaching business. She offered a successful women’s Beyond Overwhelm coaching program and earned two Emotional Intelligence certifications. She recently earned certification as a Conversational Intelligence® Coach.
As the Northern Nevada economy began to grow dramatically and ignite talent battles, Cathy refocused her business to serve the area’s companies by developing their leaders’ communication and coaching skills. She changed her company’s name to Sensational Leadership in 2014.
Originally from Indiana, then Chicago, Cathy lives in Incline Village, Nevada which has been her home base for 20 years. She passionately pursues the outdoor Tahoe lifestyle of winter and summer activities including skate skiing, sailing, hiking, and music concerts.
